EddieG, JamesV and GaryD met Sunday afternoon to hunt at Titusville Memorial Park. LawrenceM and I (EddieB) arrived after helping find a gold wedding band in Homewood. My thanks to GaryD, whose pictures and hunt report are incorporated in this posting.

Sorry, James, I didn't get a picture of you this time.

It was a cool/cold windy day and I was glad to have worn my hoodie sweatshirt and Lawrence ended up borrowing an extra jacket I had brought. Most of our finds were made in the area nearest 6th Avenue where the pavillion is.
This part of the park seems to have the "oldest dirt".

Most of us found some wheat pennies today, only Gary had the more interesting finds.

He told me the Barber quarter was only 2-3" deep. I've found old wheat pennies here that were only a half inch deep, while we have found modern coins at 4" or deeper.

Gary did a little research on the other two finds pictured above. Here's what he wrote:
" The Princess Pat lid is from a face powder or rouge made in the 1920-30s by Princess Pat Ltd, Chicago. (link)
The '3 Merry Widows' can is the third one I found since moving to AL."
